Hi all ! A big thanks to all the marshals and everyone who helped this sunday !! Yes I am a " Boksburg Bomber" and ride our roads all the time ! There is only one rule in the "East Rand " - stop at everything ! Then work as hard as you can to make up time. This was the biggest challange that any marshaling team had to face - but you handled it fantastically ( due to the circumstances). I and the " Sunward Slipstreamers" thank you for everything. most of you guys gave up your race, as to assist for the day ! You guys were the " Champs" of the day !!

Hi all, there a few guys & gals who ride during the week ! We rode this morn - 29km around East Rand mall & back ! Left at 5 and back by 6;10. Nice and slow - we teach new riders & help with road craft ! This week we will go on thurs or friday morn at 5 - just to keep the legs fresh for the "Emperors" on sunday !! No back up vehicle - but we have one or two " helicopter lights" with our group ! Any one is welcome - only one rule !!! Never leave buddies behind !! Most of the riders will be doing "Emperors" , "Ride for sight" and " Macsteel" ! But there are still riders who dont race - taht would take sunday cruise !! Enjoy !! Always train fully weighted ! Saddle bag - 2 tubes - 3bombs - levers - puncture kit - multitool- medical spec tube - 2 full water bottles & a camera ! With my mates - a ride go's from 2 hours to 4 hours on a wim !!! Race day - trim the sails !!

Thx to all the folks who organized the " Slipstreamers" sunday ride on 17th . Fantastic turn out - over 60 riders ! Thx to the committee for the coffee - saamies - coke - muffins ! To Mr Lee from " sweat & gears" - thx for the tow on the way to Heidelberg - hope you had a good ride through " suikerbossie" ! Also " Bruce & Megan " from " sweat & gears" even though we just met you two on route, you two did a lot of the work and it was great to meet you ! look forward to see you guys on the rides again. To the Germiston Wheelers - coming past us " early" at Carnival City - it was great to see all the riders greeting across the main road !!! Brilliant to see different clubs - enhancing the sport ! We had a lot of new riders and they were impressed that another club would take the time to greet !! You guys have always ( in my book ) been great !! No - its the village with the two water towers closer to Sunward park hospital ! If you go along Kingfisher & turn right into Nicholson rd - drive straight and you will see the boom gates ! You can come in the village & park cnr Nicholson rd & Cecelia ave. Safe parking on a open stand - you will see a good few cars & riders !!

Wow ! Am I glad that you got to read all the admiration and well wishing from the cycling & supporters community ! I'm also "brany new" to the "Hub" , but this is the type of article we need to lift people ! A few years ago - I sat watching a Iron Man race on tv and there was a dad, who also had a very special boy and I couldn't stop watching untill they finished ! The emotion & responce from everyone was undescribable ! I sat crying & saying a prayer ! I promised the big boss upstairs - that I would use my privalege of health and always be active ! Thanks Ziggy ! If ever -for what ever reason - this Dad "Champion" cannot do the race - I will gladly pull his " Humanity Sleigh" . When i see this picture - he inspires me to live life to the full ! He has become my Local Hero ! Thanks to all for the great messages & responce to my post !! There are great people out there & the cycling community has shown - that we aint all rubbish ! Fantastic messages to this "Champ of a Dad " ! I hope he gets to read all the messages ! Man , I am in such "awe" of this Dad !

Well done to all again on the " Hot & Hard 94.7" this year !! Can anyone let us know who the Dad was, that towed a person carrier behind him ? I had tears in my eye's when he crossed the finish line ! I am in total awe of a person like this ! I would like to name this guy, as my "Champ of the 94.7" !!! If anyone knows him or the family -please let me know and maybe get me his email ! Also - if anyone see's a pic at the finish of this Dad - let us see it !! I tried to find him in the crowds -but no luck ! Fantastic stuff !! Your family and friends must be extremely proud of you !!

Eish !! What happened with the parking arrangements on the Allandale turn off side ! We felt like we where on a mountain bike trail !!! Lots of "not so happy" people ! Most missed the starts by 30 to 40 min ! Anyone know who the "genious" was ? The rest of the race was great !! Water holes and manning personal where brillint !!! Just "Blerry" hot !!! Thx all !
