  1. Hi all! I have had my Manitou Markhor 100mm fork for about 2years now. Serviced the fork at my LBS after 2000km on it. They just cleaned everything out and put new oil in. I have noticed some play on the dustseals. Is that normal or would that need to be replaced? Headset bearings feel fine and front caliper and wheel is tightened. Also not the brake pads. Have any of you had the same problem? What would the fix be?Forks came on my Merida Big Nine 500 2019
  2. Does anybody knwo where we can get decals for Rockshox front suspension?
  3. I recently got myself a new XC hardtail, but I find myself feeling a bit hard done by in the deal. I was in the market for a reasonably well specced allu hardtail, feeling based on my riding, and my budget, I would rather let the money go on the components rather than the frame material. I settled on a 2018 Silverback Sola 1, which looked pretty decent, and I felt i was getting a great deal on it, as it was the last one in stock at the shop in question, and was going for about R5k less than the RRP of the incoming 2019 model. Up till 2017 the Sola 1 was always shipped with a REBA front fork, and I have always loved REBA forks. 2018 comes with the newly released Judy, and I immediately thought that would be great, as the old Judy was always a pretty high-end XC fork. I like the rest of the componentry on the bike, and didn't ask too many questions about the Judy. Then I realised its a pretty crap fork. its only 30mm, and if this was done to shave weight, then so be it, but even with magnesium lowers, and allu uppers, it weighs in at 1.88kg - Exactly the same as the dirt cheap, entry-level XC30, and a lot more than the 32mm Reba, in fact exactly the same as the 32mm Recon..... So what is the point of this fork? what improvements is it over the xc30, or is it just an xc30 with a nice paint job? Its pretty wishy-washy on the trails I have played on so far, isn't very firm when locked out, and the fork is very stiff either, and it definitely doesn't come anywhere near the performance of a REBA or even a RECON Gold. Also, it cant fit bottomless tokens, so I can't even improve the performance or tune it much.... So what exactly is the point of a fork that pricewise is inbetween a RECON and a REBA, but performance wise is no where close..... Its definately not weight, so what then? The RECON is also boost hub compatible, but the REBA not yet, so I can see this as one reason to fit it over a REBA, but then I still think a 32mm fork like the RECON would be a better, and Cheaper option.
  4. Which one would be better. Im building up a bike and i have a choice between the two...
  5. Hi guys This is a bit of a silly but I am tempted to just go ahead with the experiment anyway. Has anyone here ever fitter for example a 26inch wheel to a 29er fork? Curious to know what the outcome is and if it makes such a huge difference. Regards

  7. Hi all. Where is the best place (price and quality) I can take my DT Swiss fork and rear shock for a service in Cape Town area? I live in Strand. They are due a good service.. Got the same as in the pictures. Thanks.
  8. Hey guys I have a set of Rockshox Tora 302 forks. I'm not really sure what they are worth and since I want to upgrade to air forks, selling these would be a step forward. Here are the specs (that I know) Steerer tube: 1 1/8 inch Wheelsize: 26" Travel: 100mm Axle: Currently using QR Rebound adjustment Preload Adjustment I am hoping someone here could tell me what they are worth and whether I should consider keeping them or not. Thanks
  9. Everything you love in Pike in a stiffer, more capable, longer travel option. We built the new Lyrik for the riders who know there will always be more to explore, more to challenge and more to conquer. Click here to view the article
  10. I am considering one of these two forks. Pike after adjusting to 120mm travel appears to be +/-R2000 cheaper than the Fox which is the latest 2016 release. Would like to get input from the Hubbers on these 2 forks.
  11. Hey guys I am struggling to decide which fork to buy. I have a Momsen AL329 frame (tapered). I dont have a huge budget and I have been looking at: RockShox Recon Silver TK Solo Air RockShox XC 32 TK Solo Air Forks Suntour Raidon RST First I Cant find the Rockshox forks at any of the shops near me, they mostly only sell the Reba. I have seen it on CRC for affordable prices. Do you guys have any recommendations on these forks, and also where to get a good deal on them. I would prefer to buy locally, in the JHB area as I would also like to have the steerer cut (if need be) Im not overly keen on buying second hand as most of the forks that I have seen for under R3k look like they have been through the wars.
