  1. Hi guys We go on a boys MTB weekend from CT about every 3 months or so, and usually go to Oaklane near Grabouw. We're looking for a change, and are thinking about either Eselfontein Eco Huts, although it is a bit far, so are looking at Welvanpas / Wellington area. Anyone know of a good spot for between 4 and 8 guys near the trails, and are there nice routes besides Welvanpas? I assume the trails are in good shape after the Epic, and perhaps even some new ones? Still see that the yellow and black routes at Welvanpas sadly remain closed due to a dispute with the neighbouring farmer. Advice from all you Bainskloof / Wellington riders / locals much appreciated. thanks steve
  2. In episode 5, Mariske Strauss is out to claim the Queen of the Mountain from Ila Stow on the Aap d'Huez climb at Welvanpas trails. Click here to view the article
  3. After gliding down Bartinney Skyfall, Contego Segment Hunter moves to the twisty climbs of Welvanpas for the Aap D'Huez climb. Watch as current QOM holder Ila Stow (Gray) and Oliver Munnik take us up the Aap d'Huez segment. Click here to view the article
  4. The third of the Dirtopia 2016 Enduro series was held from Val De Charron wine & olive Estate near Wellington this weekend, 11 & 12 June. Top Veteran rider Gary Barnard proved to be fastest once again with an overall time for 8 special stages of only 30 minutes 45 seconds. Click here to view the article
  5. Back on home soil after exploring some fine trails up North. We headed out to a destination that needs no real introduction. Known simply as Welvanpas, the trail network merely originates on the farm, but actually spans across six farms in the greater Bainskloof area. Click here to view the article
  6. I was riding with Bos last week, first time on the Welvanpas Yellow route - epic climbing, but this Route 66 downhill singletrack is super fun. Oh yes - put on mute!
  7. Anyone doing the 2015 Gravel Travel tomorrow? I'll be sporting full Hub lycra and a red/black/blue helmet. Say Hi. Please let me know if there is already a thread running for this event. I could only find the single speeders discussing it. I recently crumbled and put gears on my bike, so I can no longer hang out with those mighty men & women.
  8. Tokai MTB are reporting that Welvanpas is on fire: https://www.facebook.com/tokaimtb/posts/371638219696599 Anyone got news on this?
  9. The first Dirtopia Enduro for 2015 took place in the hills around the picturesque town of Wellington, about 1 hour drive from Cape Town. Welvanpas is nothing short of mountain biking motherland and with Jonkershoek suffering severe damage in the devastating fires it now stands head and shoulders above all other Western Cape trails for pure Enduro type riding.
