  1. So I bought a new bike and the specs of the bike online said the front hub is a sealed Giant unit. In the bike shop I checked all specs except the hubs for some reason (trusted the web specs). Then I see the front hub is not a sealed unit and not a Giant hub either. (The rear hub is also not a Giant hub, different to the web specs) Dragons sports are the guys to contact and Gavin Salt tells me they made a running change and on dragon's website it is stated that the front hub is a non sealed unit and not a Giant hub. I didn't even think to check dragon's site beforehand to check for specs. Kinda disappointing. Gavin basically said it makes no difference and if I want a sealed hub I must wait until next year and then there may be rotor compatibility issues. Any thoughts on this from anyone who knows more than I do? And how much better is a sealed hub?
  2. I have been toying with the idea of getting myself a pair of goggles for All mountain riding and possibly to be used with my half lid at the Enduro events. Had my first ride in the wet last weekend and boy! my face and shades was covered in SPLAT... Also, hitting 60km/hr on two occasions at enduro events, had my eyes watery behind the shades. Enough said, i think this is more than enough motivation to consider getting pimp'd with some awesome looking stuffs. Was roaming about and these tickled my fancy: Fox AIRSPC goggles 100% Accuri Von Zipper Bushwick XT These Three above are pretty much in the same price range. Performance wise... i cannot comment though. Keen to hear what you guys think... to goggles or not to goggles? haha better yet lets see yours!?!
  3. It's been a dream of mine to cycle across South Africa specifically trough the Karoo for some time now and with routes like the Freedom Trail and Dragon's Spine it has been looking more and more like a reality. However after four months of unreplied emails and no more trail info on the website I have given up the the Freedom Trail leaving me with a month before holiday, a copy of "Riding the Dragon's Spine", a outdated website and inactive Facebook page. Has anyone out there ridden from Cape Town through the Karoo? How up to date is the info on the Dragon trail? Are there other routes that can be accessed by the public? Do you need special permission? Who from? We are leaving on the 1st of July, route or no route and will figure it out as we go along if we have to. I'd just prefer not to.
