  1. Good day, I was wondering with all the DH races going on, where do all you guys train? I heard Theo trained in Tokai, Ike has Hellsend. But Hellsend is only open during limited times. (I should mention, I am in Cape Town.) Is there still any Downhill focused riders out there? The main reason why I ask, DH is a relatively dangerous sport to do by yourself. I am trying to find riding partners. I had a fun little group back in Bloemfontein. Hit me up one day when you take the big rig out for a spin. Kind regards, Steve A
  2. the youtube algorithm popped this into my playlist. I see Sam Pilgrim uploaded this yesterday (6 Feb 2022). "HOW I SEE IT: SOUTH AFRICA is here and it's filled with urban MTB downhill, freeride lines, skateparks, bike tricks, dirt jumps, sports car hooning, a crazy helicopter ride in to the mountains and endless send! Get ready for the action!" Considering Sam has 1.6mil subs to his channel, thats an awesome advertisement for SA and CT in particular. Good video too. Max's perspective:

Any ideas or help would be awesome i like the watsapp group idea as it is instant i dont always have a chance to go online for instance facebook and it doesnt always come up with this info on my notifications All the best and happy riding
  4. Hi All - Tried looking through the forums but didn't find what I was looking for so I'm hoping you all can give some input from personal experience. I'm getting back into the gravity side of riding as not excited by doing 50km of jeep track just for the sake of riding. I'm looking to get my confidence up and enjoy a day out cruising down hills and trails. I used to do a lot of this kind of riding so I'm prepared to put myself out there a little, but just not ready for 20 foot gaps and 3 meter drops if you know what I mean... Places I've heard are good: Thaba Red Barn Van Gaalens Cheers, Balt.

  8. Any mountain bike racer will tell you that they get their kicks from competing. The suspense before, the rush of adrenaline during and the relief at the finish. Over the years Bas has developed a routine, the ultimate unwind from the racing season turning his goals from winning to enjoying the simplicities of riding his bike with good company. Bas shows us the flip side of his career as a professional mountain biker in "SYNONYM"! Click here to view the article
  9. Just over a week to go and thought this deserves it's own thread. The crankworx series was epic and the Fest Series has been unreal (how much bigger are they gonna go) so this is going to be an awesome end to the freeride season!!!! No doubt, it's going to be a big and crazy Rampage. My picks: Semenuk is on fire, has so much confidence after this season and damn can the dude ride. Winning rampage would be the cherry on top Rheeder, nothing to lose and would love a win after this past seasons mistakes Lacondeguy is just so good at riding big... Ok, HUGE gnarly terrain and tracks and has a great trick bag Zink, rides and pulls out the big stuff when it counts Actually... Scratch what I said above... The guys competing this year are all so good that it's going to be tough to call. Too many good names on the invite list - If they can all hold on and get their lines dialed, it's going to be nuts to watch and will give the judges a hard time... Can't wait!!
