I did last year's joberg2c on zero training. I just did my normal morning road rides and took it easy on the race.

 

As long as you ride intelligently (i.e. don't push it) all you need is good base.

 

Lots of training just helps you go faster easier, imho.

1800 hours - since when. I have done more than this, but that is since beginning of last year :D

 

Seriously though - hoping last year carries me through. I also don't worry too much about distance, more time, as you can do lots of km on the road, vs technical rides

We have 83 hours on the bike we don't do all that much technical training

I'm in precisely the same boat this year, JMac. No specific training whatsoever, am aiming to get stronger as each day goes by and counting on my base fitness.

You'll be fine - I did the same last year.

Its a downhill race isnt it? :P
