SHIMANO XT 10 SPEED OR SRAM X9 10 SPEED

I am buying a new Giant XTC 29er. Not 100% happy with groupset that comes standard on the bike so have the option of upgrading.

 

 

In my budget range I can either upgrade the groupset to

 

Full XT 10 SPEED 2011 DYNA SYSYEM

 

SRAM X9

 

I have XT on my 26er and am very happy but do not know too much about the SRAM X9.

 

If it was in budget I would have opted for the SRAM X0,might do that at a later stage....

teh XT only has a 3x10 option so I think the decsision weather you want a 2x or 3x set up should help you decide......

Between XT and X9 take the XT, but if you can reach a bit deeper in your pocket, go for X0.

So what you guys are saying is that X9 comes standard with only two chain rings on the front and XT comes standard with three thus giving you more options on the gear ratio with XT?

 

Mmm interesting do I back my legs to handle with only two chainrings....

Atraut,that is my dilemma as the old pockets are not deep enough at this stage.....

 

I think at a later stage will upgrade both the 26er and 29er to X0 when the bank manager will let me in to his office again
