Lugged, old Peugeot Mirage.

Cool bike. I bought a Mirage from CWC in 1988 with my first pay check, when they had a store in the Fore Shore, and Junior was probably a junior. I wanted a Classique, but it was a hundred ront more. I could only afford the R800 for the Mirage.

Once you have them, we can discuss how much technical expertise you have. Basically, you have to make a jig that will hold your frame and the lugs in the position they have to be after brazing. This requires a metal or wooden structure. It isn't absolutely necessary, but if you want your wheel to sit straight withuot gippo techniques, it is a must.

I bought a set of lugs from Ceeway some years ago and built a frame. It isn't difficult. You can decide to braze or silver solder, based on the type of steel used in the frame itself. Some steel cannot handle the heat required for brazing and then you silver solder. Silver solder is really easy.

But order the drop-outs and worry about the next step once they arrive.

As you say silver soldering is easy..... I built a small reciprocating steam engine myself from scratch. Did everything myself except rolling the boiler. Even pressed the domes on the boiler myself with simple wooden dies on a bench vice. Silver solder is easy as long as your prep work is done well. Amazing too see the solder sucked in.

More amazing to fire up the little boiler and see how she chugs!!!!!!
