Litter on the Argus route

If the Sabie X had a litter free 4 day tour, why can't a one day show?

Perhaps spotters on the route to take race numbers of those littering. With their next argus entry he/she will automatically pay an extra R50. This pays for the cleaners on the road and a warning not to do the same with his next race.

If we don't behave, the cape will pretty soon have residents who dislike cyclists as much as Cradle residents do.

+ 1000

So the question is... do you explain this to people on the ride? I was so tempted to ask the nob on eastern boulevard if he realised that dropping **** on the road is littering? I decided to bite my tongue, almost crashed after swearing at some guy on the karoo 2 coast after he tossed his coke cup over the barrier coming down the pass.

The guy on eastern boulevard was the first of many nobs throwing stuff on the ground, guys who do this should be reported and banned!

Say it brother, say it.

At least, you will make them feel like a tottie, at best, you might get into a fight.

Say it, don't be shy.

@ I-felt -the force you right! (about the hammer gel bottle)I got mine for a little less maybe three years ago. So it is actually really cheap if you break it down into cost per ride. It makes my life easy.

It cleans easy too. It is a good thing for race organizes to place inside goody bags.

Especially the more expensive races, that usually give out goody bags filled with useless junk.

I considered buying and branding a large volume of these little gel bottles awhile back. But will they sell?

I think they probably would. It makes sense, easier to use and you can decanter before your ride. Takes up less space and cleaner for your clothes and more importantly, the environment

It is not just cyclists. On Saturday I did a 5km walk hosted by Police Bobbies at Wonderboom Junction. Well, well what a mess the guys and gals made of the water and coke given. There were many dustbins placed a few feet apart on the route, but no - all was just thrown on the tar road and it looked like the sachets were going to float in single-file down the route!

Saw the same thing at the Big Walk in CPT....water saches everywhere...I all for reporting the guy who litters...but at the same time can we also come up with an idea to address Bus stops....there is always a bin...empty and all the rubbish next to it.

My conclusion - people short-sighted?
