I am a roadie and decided to take the plunge to buy a glorified BMX to see what the fuss is all about ;). So last week bought a Merida Ninety Sixer and started getting set up....

I went to Teak Place this morning and hit the Green route in the rain with a mate.... WHAT A JOL! I am completely sold..... haven't had so much fun in ages.

Furthermore, Teak Place is brilliant and must compliment them on a wonderful service offering...

I went for my first proper ride yesterday as well with some other peeps I met whilst looking for routes. :)

34 kms, 400m ascent (one being a 2km 10% ave gradient, lots of loose rocks all the way, which was a hard one to get used to on the uphills. :o

I broke three spokes, lost feeling in my posterior at around 20 kms, carried way too much water (camelbak and two large bottles) as I was initially going to ride alone in unknown territory when I happened upon these folks. The return was against the wind.

It was fun
