Ok so numerous LBS quoted me R200+ to replace one of my jockey wheels on my SRAM X-7 rear derailleur, Seems that the bottom twin hole jockey wheel is quite difficult to find and no longer in production. I see that Solomons has the whole Rear Derailleur on special for R230...

My question is should I replace the old Derailleur with the X-7 or should I upgrade to X-9? Will I notice any big improvement in shifting from the X-9 than the X-7?

Dude.

Just explain a little more clearly here.

You LBS should not replace 1 of the Jockey Wheels. They should be done as a set. Please explain the 'Twin Hole' thing. With a 2,5mm allen-key you can replace both yourself in about 10min.

Did they quote you for KCNC alu ones, because they cost about that but will last for many K's.

 , and they come with all the adapters.

And they shouldn't cost you thousands.

Just check the tooth count, I think yours will be 11 tooth.

Probably not. What's the price difference?

Well since the X-7 is on special, alot. X-9 would be around R450+

Ok maybe I understood them wrong then? The old X-7 (about 2006 model) Rear Derailleur's top wheel is mounted with 2 holes instead of 1 and the bottom jockey wheel runs between 2 discs. It's been badley abused and dirty in this pic.
