IF I WANT TO USE A 6 BOLT ROTOR ON A CENTERLOCK WHEEL...whats the pros and cons and what product would you sgst?

Posted

The OP maybe means centrelock hubs to accomodate six-bolt discs?

But there you still can not do anything to the hub. You bolt the adapter to the disc which converts the disc not the hub.

Actually, you do get an adapter to convert the hub to take a 6-bolt disc. Never seen it in SA though.

• Fits XTR, XT, LX, Deore and all Shimano Center-Lock patterned hubs.

• Does not fit XTR or XT wheelsets due to clearance issues with hub flange

• Does not fit Saint hubs due to the larger diameter of Center-Lock OS

• 6061-T6 anodized aluminum

That's what I was saying. I've seen and used the Shimano one.

This convert a 6-bolt disc to a centerlock disc. It screws onto the disc then to the hub.

This converts a Centerlock hub to take 6-bolt discs. Screws onto hub, then disc onto it.

It doesn't screw onto the disc. Those stubs hold the dics in place and the lockring screws into the hub to hold it in place.

Alligator make an adaptor so that I could use my avid g3 disc on my xt wheelset in fact I have two still in the packaging they cost about 210 bucks each and they are super light I think CWC has them

I got mine from my local but they generally need to be ordered

the reason I got them was I found the Avid rotor was about 0.2 mm thicker and it made a huge difference when setting the lever believe it or not

Also you find DT swiss make plenty centre lock hubs so they are quite handy when you want to fit superlight rotors which are generally 6 bolt I found.

those were my reasons for getting them...
