The tagline for Truvativ's new catalogue is "wider is better".

Quoting:

More bar means more control, more power,

more balance, more comfort—basically more

everything you want. So we’ve added wider

bar options across the board.

Simple as that.

I've just posted the riser bars:

Nice - wider options all round and still some narrow options for those who want it - pretty much something for everyone

I am quite keen on the Holzfeller or AKA, as I'm finding the BooBar a tiny bit too wide and low for my liking (watch this space for a good condition set of BooBars soon :P )

i'm confused by teh market segment adddressed by Boobar vs the holzfellers. Almost all the SRAM riders out there rock Boobars instead of holzfellers.

No matter. i love my boobars. Super stiff, and can take a beating. That said, i'm going over to Renthal

For me bars are like woman's chesty areas. There is a point where it's just too much. Much like brakes. Some feel is always better than out and out volume. Well. For me anyways.

Having said that I'm running Boobars on my DH bike. I was running Sunline V1's. I'd like something in between to be honest. like a 755mm V1. That would tick all my boxes.

so why not trim it down Oh Mega Man? I think u can take them Boobars down to 700mm IIRC.

<_< that said..the only snag is when the sweep comes, leaving not much space for grips, brakes and gear mounts...

indeed, there is buggerall space there for trimming down. the most you can trim it down is about 10mm each side...

i've taken mine down 15mm each side, and I have enough room to take it down another 10mm each side, MAX. So that's a total of 25mm each side taking the bars from 780 to 730mm. After that, i'm pretty much stuffed for space, as it's currently very tight as it is. Maybe if I go with Matchmatcher clamps, might resolve the space constraints, but not sure if that will help.

I'm running 780mm answer pro tapers and there's plenty of room for trim. I find the taper on the truvativ bars is rather elongated hence the trim restriction if one still wants to fit all controls.

I'm thinking of getting some more Answer bars for my 4X bike and trimming down to 740/750mm. either that or get some Spank Spoon bars. I've currently got Spank Royala's on and they're pretty cool. I just hope the Spoons aren't flexi like the Spike 777s you had Cap.

Ja. I'm gonna trim them. I've got a nice pipe cutter so it will be a neat job. I'm single speeding my dh bike soon so i will have plenty room cos it will just be brakes on there.

Mr Patches.. i hope so too. the flex was subtle, but very unnerving. What rise are those Answer Pro tapers of yours? It's a bit of an irritation the rise on the Boobar starts further up the bar... Didnt see mention of changes in that regard for the new truvativ stuff.. <_<
