my best run was +- 35 seconds

timer said 25.xx sec. Another best time is 29.xx sec. it's hard pressing that damn button when u barrelling off into the end of the track.

I see they building bridges and mini road gaps for the two lines. I dont think the track needs to be longer, maybe just a bit more technical with braking bumps and jumps out of some of the berms etc.. and maybe.. just maybe, widening those flat corners a little bit. Starting drifting when laying down some power, but man, it was fun (albeit my legs are dead from some other hell i put it thru on Friday, so I expect my times to improve..)

oh, for reference, because they building those bridges, i started timing from the bottom of the big bridge (little single track coming off the jeep rolls into the DS track at that point as well. Soz, no photos <_< )

Peterwest, and others: what y'all times. i know im whipped, but stoked to have something to work toward

I had a 35.45 but not very accurate timing ( had a friend of mine take the time at the top so he couldn't see exactly when I finished) I see that they have made little starting blocks, there I want to start on one of those ( we had to start on the flats )

Just have to get my bike fixed then planning to go again :)

that track looks sweet!! Personally I'd have put more shallow corners in but from only 1 pic i cant really make a good judgement of the track.

I had a quick read through some of the posts here and actually disagree with those of you who suggested putting in tables and rollers etc (another pic that was posted on page 2 i think).

I am about to start a dual slalom series here in KZN in the off season as a FUN EVENT. In my mind Slalom courses should be designed as fun close racing courses that are at max 300m long and take about 20sec to complete. There can be one or 2 berms but many corners need to be flat corners just on a big grass slope. NO JUMPS ... if you have to put in a jump it will be a bit of sand piled up against a hay bale ...

Thats OLD SCHOOL RACING - not tech - just fast ... and easy to race for ANYONE! ... we really need to get more XC guys aware of the fun in DH "racing" and this is a good way to get them in the door ... on any bike ...

BIG UP to the builders who had teh foresight to build a slalom track and not a 4x track ... as 4X is DEAD! .. bring back SLALOM!

Nigel: the top of the Nitida track has about 4 berms to pump up the speed, the bottom half of the track is comprised of only flat turns. the stacks down there are gonna be awesome! and you have to pedal, dammit!

i think Nitida builders got it just right. Maybe some lips outta the top berms, but that's about it. The track is good.
