It seems like 29ers have really gotten into the market now and theirs quite a lot of models. I am thinking of buying a scott scale comp,gt karakoram 1 or giant talon 29er1. I would like to use one of these for xc. Are any of these any good or should I just get a scott scale 70/aspect 10.

what is your budget those are very average bikes if your are talking XC and specifically racing your are looking at very high spec bikes

 

I've seen the GT good bike but very basic, as for the Giant I would look at the XTC dont know the Scott Scale but scott is a good brand

hello got the GT Karakoram. Bought it for fun. Yes its basic and good for the 1/2 Marathons. If u a race snake and have a good bank balance u seriously need to look for lighter better wheels and groupset.

There is a shootout of sub R20 000 29ers in May Bicycling. They spoke very highly of the Momsen, which is in the same price bracket as your ones. It makes a very interesting read and could help you decide.
