One of my colleagues had a heart attack and died just over a week ago after playing a hockey game, he was only 37 and kept himself fit.

You think these things only happen to people when they get older.

Really sad to hear, must be tragic for the family.

Yeah true, heart attack can happen to anyone at anytime, but its always upsetting when the victim is still young or fairly young.

I wonder if he had a history of coronary disease, the post says he had been sick recently.?

Could be cholesterol is a factor as well? ... This has made me think twice about doing a cholesterol test as part of a routine checkup, family has a history of it.

You should go do it bud, its easy to control. I also have a family history of cholesterol and when I hit 40 (a looong time ago) I had a test and it was 7 something, even though I was lean and fit, the cardiologist put me on Lipitor 5mg but it didnt agree with me and I got cramps, so he changed me onto Caduet 5/10 which I have taken daily since then and my cholesterol now is 3.4, which he says at my age of 53 is pretty good, so now I only take it every second day.
