The merida in the pic is not the Merida matts tfs800, i think the spectra is the better spec!

You need not go lower than SLX components. If some have XT than great.

Also look at the shock.

 

I have said Merida all along although there is nothing wrong with the Silverbacks they are also specd well.

 

Once you have made your mind up on the specs you nedd to find out what the weight of the frame is.

Scott Scale! Best frame by far

Thanks for all the replies. It looks like its between the merida tfs 800 and scott scale 70. Going to test them out and see how they go.

I'm thinking mabye that the scott's frame is slightly better and will make up for the fork. Plus, the merida's air fork may leak oil as its an rst first air which is apparently suspectable to oil leaking.

Any opinions or experience on the rst first air fork mabye would be cool.
