Get a punch (5mm I think) and place the wish bone on a block of wood. The punch goes through the one side of the wish bone/bearing and set it on the inside race of the other bearing and beat it ;) Just work your way around the inner bearing race and work it out. Once you have the first one out the second one is a breeze. There is a spacer between the two bearingins so expect to see that fall out when you succeed

This sleeve has the same ID as the bearings, so I can't get any "grip" on the inside of the bearing to punch it out...

Apply just a little bit of force with the punch or screwdriver and the spacer should shift over a little bit. Once you get the first couple of knocks in, it'll move around freely.

Cool, so I got all my bearings out this weekend. Thanks for all the help guys.

Next question: I've got an air can service kit for my rear shock, which is pretty straight forward to replace. The thing that I'm not sure about is the damper assembly inside. All articles I have read say DO NOT OPEN!!! Do I need to do anything to this assembly?

Before I stripped it, I bottomed out a few times quite badly, because of the sudden loss of air. Which parts take a beating when you bottom out? I think it's inside the damper assembly.

The shock did start leaking oil as well, but I think it might just have been the float fluid, because of the air seals being toast.

WRT shocks I would not dabble with the internals (damping mechanism) unless you're very sure of what you're doing. A general air can service, new oil & seals is no problem and easy enough to do yourself.

Best person to ask on The Hub would be Johan Bornman. Leaking oil is normally just a case of your seals being toast (as you say).

So I want to replace the seal head rings in the IFP chamber now.

The problewm is I don't have one of these:

It's an adapter that you screw into the bottom schrader valve to be able to pressurize the IFP chamber.

Does anyone know where I can get one?
