Hi Hubbers!

Long story short - just recently moved from road to mtb.

Loving the excitement, challenges and learning new things...

So, I'm fortunate enough to be going on a trip to hong kong, china and japan in a few weeks, did some research and found a couple of nice bike shops in hk.

My question is, say I take R10k pocket money for mtb goodies, what do I blow it on?

Components, maybe a frame, grouppo, accessories... How would you spend it?

I'm... asking in the sense of what is expensive locally and where do we get ripped off in sa?

Obviously I don't want to spend it on items I can buy for same or in +-15% range of local prices....

Would be interesting to hear your suggestions and or comments

Good luck. My mate was excited to find a Trek store in Singapore, I think, but everything, from frames, shoes and clothes were sized for dwarfs.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Just did some research, the 2012 XT gruppo looks awesome, google provided lots of info on it.

Was very interested to read about the new Shadow-Plus XTR rear derailleur. Apparently it will change your life?

Will be looking out for these!!!

10K should just about cover the titanium plate for your collarbone when you break it
