Marmit Posted July 5, 2011 Share My inner right knee tends to get sore after about 30km offroad. Its only the right knee? I don't think its a saddle height issue as both knees would hurt? Do I need to adjust my cleats?

covie Posted July 5, 2011 Share Got mine pain on the left knee, right knee works fine. Would also like to hear suggestions. Had the same thing a while back, read an article that put it simply pain in the front of the knee, saddle to high, pain at the back of the knee saddle to low. Played with the saddle height till it got sorted. Although many other variables could be involved, i.e. total bike setup, how fit and strong you are, etc. Most of the time kneepain is simply when one overdoes it and your going further and harder than youre used too. MJ the Expat Posted July 5, 2011 Share It could be a lot of things:1. Bike setup2. Muscle allignment3. Too much grinding when cyclingetc. I had a knee op about 3 years ago and every now and then I get a bit of PFS. Patello femeral syndrome the smart people call it ie. my wife. The sollution for me is 9/10 times a very stiff ass muscle/ITB/quad/hammy of the right leg. 10 minutes of stretching and I am fine for weeks again. Everybody always point to bike setup, and yes, it can be the cause, but you might be sitting with an anatomical issue that is just going to hurt you again in the long run. A while ago, I went with my wife to a training session with a lady called Benita de Witt (Google it) where they ran some muscle tests on my legs. Basically it determines the strength of leg muscles in relation to other leg muscles. No machines, no gizmos, no gadgets. Just a small wooden bench... The results were shocking. I thought I had leg strength...Gmpf...My hammies were shot for one. Having weak hammie muscles, caused over traing in my quads...this caused stress in my ITB...Which meant my knee was pulled out of alignment...and PFS was what I got. Get your bike setup done. But get yourself checked out too.
