Road Tandem

Hey There Hubbers.

 

I am thinking of trying to ride Tandem with the wife. Problem is i want to try one before i buy it. Was hoping to try it on the Sun City Road Race.

 

Size need to be preferably XL/M

 

Anyone know of some who would lend me one?

Does no one know of anyone with a tandem willing to lend it to me for sun city road race beofre i go and buy one and decide i cant actually ride with the wife on the back?

Sun City is a bad race to borrow a tandem. Everyone who has a tandem is usually there...

whoo hoooo managed to get hold of one. It doesnt have drop bars(Only stragight Bar). But who cares. This is going to be interesting.

She is trying to get into riding. I have realised that i will be doing all the climbing and will be pulling her most of the way. BUT that is also why i borrwed one before i buy. Because if it doesnt work out then i just say sorry love. No money for a tandem - or something along that line.

 

Then again she is also pretty competitive and wont give up easily.

Ah ok, just remember not everyone likes descending....also you need to tell her to lean in corners. It is good that she tries to be involved, I also got my girlfriend a mtb which she enjoys, but she will never climb with me on a tandem as she says I descent way to fast for her etc etc...

 

Hope it works out though, always fun to do more stuff together. Just don't eat a curry or something before a race...because she will smell it first

I have told her to just trust me. but i am sure when i get a smack on the back of the head i will know i am going too fast or if she doesnt she is holding on for dear life.

 

Yeah i got her a MTB too as that is what i prefer but i cant get good distance in as we are totally different fitness levels. I also want to just expose her to riding so she can see how to handle riding in a race/group etc.

 

I always eat Pronutro before a race and it has the same effect. LOL

hey latent. We did it and love it. Add another dimension to our relationship. If I had the money and could pick up a pretty descent on I would definitely get one!
