The bolt that "clamps" my Niner biocentric EBB is stuck (seized). In attempting to get it loose I have stripped the head of the bolt (takes a size 6 allen key). I supose my only option would be to drill the bolt out from the bottom as the bottom end of the bolt can be seen from the opposing side of the BB. I hope someone could advise me in the following :

1. Is drilling the bolt out the only option?

2. Where can I find 6mm bolts that take a size 6 Allen key to possibly replace the seized bolt?

3. Do I need to buy a new Niner BB?

4. Any advise you could add would be appreciated!

Thanks

Just be very carefull to clamp or secure the EBB properly and centre punch the bolt and line up the drill properly. You will only have one chance. If you destroy the thread in the aluminium you buy a new one.

Does the "E" stand for eccentric?

If you do have scrap the Biocentric BB, I'd look at a Bushnell wedge type EBB. It is by far the best design of EBB (but not the lightest). I bought mine directly from the Bushnell people in the states, together with a shim to fit my GT Peace.

I had a look at it, but the reviews I read weren't that great. If it doesn't creak or slip I would be sold. Do you have any experience with Niner's biocentric EBB - how does it compare?
