What size would be reccommended for a Downhill bike?

I am looking to buy my first downhill bike but I dont know what to expect. I usually ride a Large frame road bike. I hear that although i ride a large frame road bike, a medium mountain bike will be easier to handle as a large frame could kinda be gangly and big to flick around. I am 1.9m tall.

 

Is anyone else round about my height and Downhilling? What size bike do you ride? The only thing that worries me about riding a smaller bike is my knees hitting the handlebar, those are painful!!

 

Any good advise will be greatly appreciated!!

I am 1.92 m tall. Only a large frame will work. Anything smaller and you wont be able to move your weight around effectively cos your bike will be to short. But good luck finding a large frame. I always struggle with sizing.
