29er road tires

i was just told that you can fit 700 x 25c road tires on 29er rims

how true is this..

if so then a Maxxis Detonator will make the perfect road tire for it????

Yup. But a 30mm tyre is a better fit.

If you have enough clearance on the fork and chainstays, but the tyres will fit the wheels.

It is a popular size and there are lots of companies making that. Locally, I've purchased Specialized and Continental.
