divernick Posted August 29, 2011 Share I was riding my SS on the weekend when my BB started making a loud creaking,cracking noise.... When I took the cranks off and the BB out of the frame I discovered that the non-drive side adapter which is a threaded plastic cup, had broken. The problem now is that I amfaced with either replacing the 4-month old BB (OK it's cheap)or trying to find a replacement plastic cup. Anyone have any idea if such a plastic cup is available loose? You should be able to source one from an LBS - they should have in stock from some old bikes that might have swopped them out for clients. Saying that, a new ST BB is approx R 100, for a full steel one. Sure the replacement cup would be just a bit less than that... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
