Hi all,

I have ridden MTB in the past for about 3 years but 2 years ago it got stolen... So I was thinking of getting a new one just to play around with for a bit of of road use

I was wondering if 10 speed is needed on a MTB or is 9 speed fine?

I have looked around a lot and this LOOKS like a bargain but I'm not sure...

Okay it's a Trek 4900 Disc hardtail 26" and not a 29er and with 10 SPEED SLX/DEORE groupo, the specs are:

- Front suspension

SR Suntour XCR-RL w/coil spring, preload, remote lockout, 100mm travel

- Wheels

Shimano RM66 center lock alloy hubs; Bontrager AT-850 disc 32-hole rims

- Shifters

Shimano Deore M591, 10 speed

- Front derailleur

Shimano Deore

- Rear derailleur

Shimano SLX M663 Shadow

- Crank

Shimano Deore Hollow

- Cassette

Shimano HG62-10 11-36, 10 speed

- Saddle

Bontrager Evoke 1

- Seatpost

Bontrager SSR, 31.6mm, 20mm offset

- Handlebar

Bontrager Low Riser OS, 31.8mm, 15mm rise, 9 degree sweep

- Stem

Bontrager Race Lite, 31.8mm

- Brakeset

Shimano M446 hydraulic disc brakes

I can get this bike, BRAND NEW for R7000  it sounds like a bargain because it's got 10 speed on.

What do you guys think?

OR

Should I go 29er? I am 175cm tall I weigh 60kg's so I'm sure the 26" will do the job?

Thanks

Silverback is the best value for money bike you can get. For me the NB points are a Hollowtech II crank and don't settle for less than a Rock Shox Recon Air fork, I think Silverback has an option like that in the R7000 price class
