Schwalbe Racing Ralf Performance in the wet?

Hi

Am considering riding the Outsurance KZN Explore tomorrow but a ton of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours.

My 29er is running Racing Ralfs and my 26er is running Crossmarks.

How do the Ralfs cope with some water? I have no experience with them so dont really feel like paying school fees for 45km

Some guidance would be appreciated

I ran Racing Ralphs on day 1 of the Wine to Whales last week, and it rained like you can't believe. They cope OK with the wet, but they cake up with sticky mud and they don't like slick wooden surfaces, so just be that tiny little bit more caucious. I missed my Kenda Nevegals in the slick off camber corners, but preferred the easier rolling Ralphs for the long ride.

Thanks.

Yeah, I swear by my Crossmarks so really do not know what to expect from the RR's. Will use the 29er tomorrow and see how it goes.

RR are no good in the wet. The best combination are Rocket Rons on the front and Racing Ralphs at the rear But Crossmarks are'nt that good in the either. I don't really thing there much of a difference then.

also, sidewalls on Schwalbe's are very fragile

The Rocket Rons are lighter but more fragile than the Racing Ralphs. Had no issues with punctures or sidewall cuts on RRs.

I reckon Racing Ralphs stick better than Rocket Rons and would prefer the Ralph on the front. (Keep in mind that I normally ride very KNOBBLY tyres, so all these XC type tyres feel very loose by comparison, especially in the wet.
