The BB on my current bike it currently being stubborn in loosening itself. I can loosen the non-drive side, but the drive side does not want to budge at all. Any advice on how to get it off the bike?

BB is a Truvativ Howitzer.

Which way are you 'loosening' it?

Sorry I'm not being at all helpful. The drive side BB shell will loosen in the same direction as the non drive side. Ie, its thread is the reverse of the other side.

Am loosening it clockwise (ie the opposite direction to the tighten arrow on the BB).

And a blowtorch and 2m pipe is where I do not want to go. If that is needed then it is going to the LBS..sigh.

Just looking if there was a more user friendly way of getting it off.

In all fairness, try adding a lever to the spanner you are using. Might work?

A longer lever might work, but my BB tool is starting to strip the outside of the BB. So a longer lever will just make it worse.

Looking to try get it off without ruining the cup as if it is still ok after removal, I might want to get it back onto the bike, without shelling out for a new one...

Lie the frame on it's side, and apply liberal coatings of a penetrating lube, leave overnight, let it do it's thing, and try again in the morning.

If and when you rebuild the frame, use copper slip on all threads.

Nevermind the poofters here who nay say. You know the proof.
