Hi guys, could you please help me out.

I bought a mtb in CPT, need to get to the east london.

I phone time freight, and they asked questions about the box size, which I'm not exactly sure of, and got quoted R1300.

I know there is someone on the hub who has a transport company, just don't know the details.

Can you please email me with anything, either actual box measurements or a cheaper alternative.

My email is antonj@cbarnes.co.za

Regards

Anton

That seems hell of a high, I sent my road bike to cape town using them at less than half the price. Not sure of mtb box dimensions but my road bike box dimensions were 157 by 79 by 19cm. I'm sure someone on here can give you mtb packing dimensions though.

Time Freight now work on volume for box for bikes instead of weight, as they were losing out with the high volume, light weight stuff. Even so, shouldn't be more than R400 odd. The best is to get whoever you bought it from to drop it off at the depot, and mark it for collection at your local depot - tends to drop the price a bit. Send and receive quite a lot of bike stuff through Time Freight and never paid much more. Its the collecting and dropping off either side of the depots that tends to raise the amount a lot!

Hope this helps.

Try DCB Logistics, as far as I know its either owned by a Hubber, or he is a director. (Big Mig)

just add .co.za to the dcb and you should find some helpful info
