  1. I hope that clown with the gun meets the most dragged out and excruciating painful death possible. Its time we put some use to use etoll gantries and hang criminals like this from them. MAYBE that might be a deterrent. FAFO.
  2. I never parked at Kyalami once, there are many other safe places to park in the area. This is the issue I had with FNB, you had to park in the stadium because it wasn't safe anywhere else. Same with Steyn City, I parked at Fourways Mall and rode in. According to the organizers comments this was the weekend they were given and they had to work with it.
  3. In my experience I thought Kyalami was a far better venue and definitely better area. I won't miss FNB at all. More central as well.
  4. I see the 2026 event is back at Kyalami. Excellent news.
  5. What an absolute muppet.
  6. First come, first served. Options are nonsense.
  7. I just want them strong, light and cheap. I'm not fussy 🤣
  8. Not worth selling, rather keep it
  9. I saw this this thread because I'm in a similar predicament and even though its nearly 4 years later, the choice of rim vs disc brakes is still here for used bikes. Seems like disc is definitely the future and here to stay, the bigger reason I'm looking at it is the ability to use wider tyres. The question is are discs still having the same niggling issues as before with warping and rubbing, or has the technology improved a bit over the last few years? Some great rim brake bike deals right now but selling these a few years from now isn't going to get any easier I would imagine.
  10. This should help. Its about 30 to 40% depending https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/196241-help-with-importing-a-bike/
  11. This is jsut an insult and reminds me of the saying where a crime punishable by a fine just means it's legal for a price.
  12. Reigniting this thread because I'm in a similar position of deciding whether to buy a newer design road bike, I was looking at carbon but the @Titan Racing Bikes Valerian Comp has got my attention considering the spec at that price. Does anyone know if you can replace the 25c tyres with 28c on that model?
  13. Thanks guys, does confirm what I was thinking too. Definitely not worth selling the frame. Appreciate it
  14. Agreed, sad state of affairs for Campag at the moment.
  15. I'm battling to figue out how much this bike is worth because its an old frame with a new groupset. The frame is a Carrera Hercules RC (probably about 2000 era) old school style with carbon rear triangle and forks, its still in excellent condition for its age. The groupset is Campagnolo Centaur 11 speed which I bought 18 months ago. The bike has been used mainly on my trainer so wear and tear is minimal. Wheels are Fulcrum Racing 7, nothing too special but solid and in good condition still. Or would it be better to sell the parts separately? Appreciate the input.
  16. Agreed. Two tonnes of steel doesn't care if you're right or wrong. My trainer set up was some of the best money I've ever spent because even though it will always be a very distant second to being on the road, I can ride whenever I want and I'm guaranteed to walk away after every ride. No taxis, drunk idiots, or arrogant clowns anywhere.
  17. This is too terrible, especially at this time of year. RIP. I hope that SOB driver gets what he deserves and then some.
  18. Setting it correctly once seems to be the issue then.
  19. I've brought this topic up before and been told to learn to do it myself, which I have been doing more and more lately. This really is the only way. I don''t understand why the level of service is so appalling, from the small local guys to the big brand names. In fact the big brands are the worst in my experience. The worst decision I made was buying a Campagnolo groupset for my road bike a few years ago, I will never make that mistake again. Easier to find a good mechanic for an Alfa Romeo.
  20. Absolutely terrible. Got this off the facebook Cradle group, not sure how true it is
  21. This is what I should have done, I sat on the Randshow Road offramp for an hour because everyone wants to drive past and cut in at the last minute so I missed my batch by 30 minutes. Also if you're starting at 8:00 then you don't need to be there at 6:00, it just slows down everyone else who needs to be there at 6:00. Logistics FML.
  22. Did my 15th yesterday, think the novelty has definitely worn off for me. If I do another one it will be on my MTB to just cruise around and enjoy the open streets.
  23. 30 000 if you count like Jacob Zuma maybe 🤣
  24. So nice of them to take back the race numbers from Lynnwood at 1pm before I could collect. Maybe that could also have been communicated on the whatsapp as well FFS.
  25. There is still an expo but its only on the Saturday. Last I heard there were 12 000 entries. I don't think it would be even worthwhile hosting the event for 3000 riders.
