Francois Pienaar Posted November 17, 2011 Share I recently bought the 96er 3000d Carbon and went through a massive investigation. Basically it came down to the Giant Anthem being a trail bike and the 96er (or Specialized Epic) which are slightly more aggresive race bikes. I went with the 96er as the deal was simply too good to pass up on. I had a hard tail for 5yrs before that, so it has been an AMAZING upgrade. robmac Posted November 17, 2011 Share Anthem a trail bike? hmmm...
Flippa Posted November 17, 2011 Share Anthem a trail bike? hmmm... I'm also confused. Anthem is an out and out race dual sus. Giant's trail bikes are the Trance and Reign. Although, I have a 2010 Anthem X with a 120mm Reba on to slacken the head angle and it's all the bike I've ever needed.

RollandBounce Posted November 17, 2011 Share Also tested quite a few dual sus bikes, have to agree, the epic, 96 and even the scott bikes are a lot more xc orientated and feels more like a racing bike... use it dont use it..
