[Garfield2010]

Guys

 

A group of us training for the 70.3 in January wants to do a big training cession on the 16th of December.

 

We are looking to swim 2km in a dam somewhere....

 

Then Cycle around 60-80km's

 

And then run around 15km's

 

Heie Safari dam is out of the order as they decided to get a hippo.......

 

We are considering the Emmarentia dam at the moment with that 10km loop in Greenside followed by the run in the Botanical Gardens (4.5km laps).

 

Has anyone else had the same idea?

 

Any other venues that could work? (that is not too far and has good cycling roads adjacent?)

Kricky it would be awesome if we had something like that in CPT.

 

I know the New Balance club wanted to or did something like that in Langebaan.

 

Would be cool if there was another one.

I'm in. With the prestige ultra not happening this year, it sounds like a very good idea.

Also in, always was I'll do any route, just not keen on a trail run (no trail run at the 70.3!). The sooner we can go from wetsuit to bike the better - i.e. do the whole training thing in trisuit. So if there are a bunch of us cycling around and running in trisuits, we won't look as ridiculous...

Trial Run

 

The run is 4.3km on paved road. 200m is on gravel. But I am sure we can organise a detour for you Gripen.

 

HTFU (rule 5)

 

The transitions wont be as quick as IM EL. The idea is to wait for everyone after the swim or maybe you could just start 5 minutes later then you can do the transition quickly?

Reckon I will still be wasted from Jailbreak so I will swim very slow anyway and make sure I climb out in the group. Taking time trial bike, can we arrange a Referee (with the shirt and all) to enforce non-drafting? Practicing for 70.3 and all.

Apparently Gripen is a part time "seekoeijager" on weekends when he is on the prowl for women. He likes them big.

 

So we will just leave it to him then.
