Polar watch and wheel size

Good morning all,

 

I have just invested in a nice new specialized 29" and have an old polar heart rate monitor, the S720i, Does anyone have the right setting for the wheel size to give me the right distance and speed....

I run a Geax Sugaro which measured at 2300 - pretty accurate.

 

Just roll the tyre 1 full revolution and measure the distance.

If its bigger than that - you cut off some knobblies like its neville Bartos`s ears!

Best to measure yourself though cos the circumference varies depending on tyre choice, pressure, etc.

Using a Polar CS500, Stans ZTR Flow 29er and Schwalbe RAcing Ralphs

Wheel circumference came to 2240mm.

 

How,

1. Pump your tyres to desired preassure / spec
   
2. GET ON YOUR BIKE, with kit, waterbottles and the lot
   
3. Measure your front wheel's distance covered with one FULL revolution.
   

Whoilla, there is your input measurement.
