Go checkout www.bikeradar.com and read reviews on SRAM vs Shimano. Then make a decision AND not let the salesman make a decision for you.

I always do my homework and in the price range I've been buying, SRAM gets the most votes for best value for money. It was never my intention to convert to SRAM but I only realised that it has just been happening

Yeah, it is sad that she is a blood relation but good enough for a good pal.

re sram, I converted from Shimano with my new bike - Sram Force. I love it. Shifts great - double tap catches me out sometimes, but I am sure the MTB shifters are awesome.

Go for it - take the leap! :D Your mind sounds like a dark and dangerous place. We have Xt and X9 in our family.XT is very strong .X9 is very smooth.I think both are good . Next bike i am going Sram xo for weight mainly

Love that new sram red groupset. I assume its the 2012. Have not seen them on any bikes yet. Retail?

Only available in March 2012, so it will only be on bikes from then, so don't go and buy a sram red bike now!

It will probably be similar to the 2011 price, maybe a little bit more, but I assume they'll want to remain the cheapest lightest road groupset.
