std vs Tapered steerer

hi guys i have a new merida 120 with a tapered steering fork, unfortunately the one that came with the bike is not suitable to my style of riding, i want to use my Rock shox recon fork instead, the question i have is is it possible to use the std normal fork in a tapered neck?

i know there are conversion kits to use tapered forks in non tapered necks but cant find anything about doing it the other way round.

Not sure where to get it but I have this exact situation on my Epic (it came with the adapter though). I know this may come as a surprise but a quick call to your LBS would probably be useful at this time
