Hi guys,

i just realized that the forks on my tandem are carbon.... our combined weight is about 200kg.

will these forks be strong enough?? i dont know what brand they are but there is a sticker on the side that says "EVO" ??

the LAST thing i need it for them to collapse and send my Mrs and I into the dirt/tar...... :(

 

we doing the argus and need to replace asap if its an issue!

EVO makes Tandem Specific Forks carbon forks. Take the Tandem to a Cannondale Agent in your area to ensure your fork is tandem specific.

 

Your friend here is regular inspections that you should be doing on al your other bikes as well. Quick inspection before or after each ride. Detail inspection at least once a week, depending on how much you ride.

Carbon is multiple times stronger than aluminium or steel for equivalent weight. The problem is it shatters instead of bends. That is why you need to follow eccentric's advice of regular inspections looking for early signs of damage.

NO THAT IS NOT WHAT MY POST SAID. You only know that you have a EVO fork. Have it checked by a Commondale agent to verify it is a dedicated Tandem Fork. They also make cyclo cross forks that is adapted for V Brakes
