Brakes not releasing properly!! Please Help!!

Heres the initial test by MBR and the bike of the year verdict, if you look against who the rivals are, this is quite a feat.

Wow! So much hating for a Sunday.

My guess is that they are Avid Brakes, which are finicky whichever bike they are on. By the way, the Trance is a great bike - easily on par with its more expensive brethren.

 

Adjusting the calipers is always the first thing to try with them, so well done on getting that right in spite of all the crazy advise. If in future that doesn't do the trick, check that the pistons are retracting properly, as they will build up a ring of crud that stops it, and keeps the pads too close together, touching the discs. If this happens, then try to clean the sides of the pistons and lube them. Then manually open the gap between the pistons. You will need to remove the caliper from the bike first.
