Not sure whether to comment about the Bok squad on this thread or on the "More Steyn" thread, but here goes ...

... based on the squad announced, here's my starting line up with the bench for the tests. Then for fun, I select a "midweek" team, with the starting test team not allowed in the midweek team at all.

With my eye on the future, Chili's my captain, much the same way Francois Pienaar was chosen as captain by Kitch Christie (i.e. not the first choice player in his position but the first choice captain yet can stand his own in his position).

MY TEST TEAM

15 Lambie Kirchner

14 JP

13 Jean (captain) not sure one can lead from the back?

12 Francois Steyn

11 Habana

10 "More" Steyn

9 Hougaard

8 Spies

7 Alberts

6 Marcel Coetzee (displacing Brussouw - biggest shock)

5 Juandre Kruger

4 Eben Etzebeth

3 Jannie

2 Chiliboy (captain) Bismarck

1 Beast

TEST BENCH

16 Ruan

17 Zane Kirchner Lambie

18 Werner Kruger Coenie (Means Jannie on for full 80, and hope Coenie doesn't give away technical penalty near end with scrum. He's not hitting in straight!!)

19 Bismarck Strauss

20 Franco Flip vd Merwe

21 Keegan Daniel

22 Olivier (in my opinion the only blemish in an otherwise impressive team)

Well I was almost got it correct but boy did I get it wrong at Hooker? Chiliboy not even on the bench? But I'm glad for Strauss. And on my bench - of course, forgot that 7 subs are allowed so the options are 4 + 3 or 5 + 2.

Willems Alberts, jou lekka ding!

Bokkies - hmmm... More team unity needed, bit good start under HM

Alberts had a cracker of a game! Hougaard was a bit k#k imo.

But fair start

Some good performances, and as they gel and train more as a unit, they will get better :-)

Habanna and Frans Steyn were also outstanding, imo. Pienaar set the back line off much faster than Hougaard, Pienaar should start at 9. His kicks were better, too. Hougaard made some fine runs and tackles, but where to play him, wing?

Lambie made a bigger impact than Kirchner, but one would expect that.

The scrum with Strauss and Oosthuizen bulldozed the Brits well, perhaps rather play the Du Plessis brothers from the bench?

Lastly, Lambie, F Steyn or Pienaar can also place-kick.
