Tarmac's Revenge: I use the weeride which has an additional bar that is mounted between the head of the frame and the seat tube, therefore no abrasion on the top tube. The clamps around the frame and the seat tube have rubber protection, so no abrasion there.

Grumpy Old Guy: The unit is surprisingly stable. The child can't move around to much and the child's centre of gravity is much the same as the adult's riding it. I am not fond of the units mounted over the rear wheel for this reason. You'll be able to ride some jeep track (if the wife allows you :D ) but in general I view it as quality time with my daughter, so I prefer to stick to the gentler roads.

Our little one moves around alot and is very active. I got the one that goes on the back, and I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I dont like that I cannot interact with her while we ride. On the other hand she is getting close to 2 yrs old, and she fits better in the one at the back, with her moving alot she can play around a bit in the back while we ride.

Would have loved to try the weeride though.
