Does anybody know if you can buy the spring portion of candy 1 pedals?

Its the coloured twirly part that broke on todays ride

Crc and other online shops dont seem to sell that part.

 

A bit pissed - am i chucking the pedals because of this?

Not sure if it's the same thing but I took my pedals (egg beaters) to Solomon's cycles who sent it to the agent as there was too much play in the pedals and they "serviced" the pedals and changed the colured spring - this when all other shops said I needed new pedals.

I asked Shamus to replace mine. He asked me to drop it off at my LBS and he did it when he went past. I think it was R50 or R100. can't remember.
