    I am based in JHB and would really like to see the handlebars - I am doing Joberg2c in April and think this would be a practical addition to the bike. I do tend to suffer from a bit of wrist pain when riding alot (I have had a set up done) and hoping this could ease the onset.

    I have ridden both, I have currently gone for egg beaters to shimano for the pure reason of being able to use my mtb shoes at the gym/watt bike class...I miss the float from the egg beaters and will probably go back to having 2 pair of shoes, egg beaters for the bike and spd for indoor sessions. if you buy the cheaper version of the egg beaters I believe you experience issue, I have bought the 2nd from top and ridden them for years, minor maintenance every 18 months or so

    So I have just come across this thread...obviously have not been on in ages...and I am fat and unfit and in the worst shape of my life..176cm and currently 97Kg's. I am doing my 1st spinning class in almost a year.....I need to be 80kg by June - if I don't have a heart attack and die today, this will be my 1st step to regaining some of my former glory!!!

    best bet - find someone in the uk that is coming to SA, buy it from CRC and deliver to them in uk and get them to bring it into SA

    if you dig a bit online you will find it -I recall reading it when it was announced 2 or 3 years back and another reader has said the same - I am not here to paint that store in a bad light

    I have picked this up previously....as understand a local online store is supplied by CRC and the reason for the price increase is to get/keep the prices in line with what we can get locally for said store.

    I'm in the same boat...I have decided to focus on some cross training for the next couple of months...I have also just spent some money today converting from 2x11 to 1x11 to try keep things interesting

    I bought bib shorts from them...a week to deliver to my office...with delivery half the price of my lbs.

    rear hub will need to cater for 11 speed - if it doesn't then yes a new hub is needed

    so you saying I should not claim via insurance even though I attempted to get the warranty claim - is that you view?

    I have realised that a warranty claim is not worth the paper its written on - if you manage to get a warranty replacement then well done....if there is any room for movement from providers to get out of a warranty claim they will - I have just been through this with scott....rather insure your bike and use that channel...

    I'm getting excited....for no other reason than I wont have to deal with work for that week - so over it. On a serious note - I like to think I'm ready...now just have to hope for favourable conditions...anyone got some input on this?

    I bought a pair of Sporful bibs from bikeinn - dhl postage plus custom clearance was roughly still R1200 cheaper than the advertised price at a well know bike shop. A week later I saw a pair of assos bib shorts on a local site significantly cheaper than the same well know bike shop and I asked if they would match or better the price....they agreed (saved R800) on that. The point is I think you need to shop around - some days I buy from LBS and some days I buy elsewhere

    so with basically 2 weeks left to go...who's ready...who is not?? I fear I am on the latter :-( My entry was only confirmed 23/12/2016 and JHB weather and work have contrived to make things difficult for me....oh well, should survive the prolog atleast!!
