Doing the TransDraak 24h 210km MTB race this weekend as a LSD ride, well that’s the plan.

Doing the Buffelspoort Tri next weekend can maybe be too much. Racing/Competing 2 weekend in a row . . .

Thinking of rather doing the Denel 21km road running race end of March which actually runs past my house. Running was my problem at the 70.3 and wanted to test the running legs at Buffelspoort

When did you last talk to them?

Just now and I quote:

"Nee dit is nie op die Spectrum Sport website nie, dit is net op Cycle lab, maar ek sal vir Gertjie vra om dit op die Spectrum website ook te laai

En ja die race gaan aan"

Wow, doing the Transdraak a month or so before the IM is brave. I did the TransBaviaans last year and it was hard on the body. I took 10 days off training to recover my body fully. I guess it depends on where you are with your training schedule for the IM. There is also the chance of injury on a race like that.

Riding the TransDraak, not racing it! Well thats the plan.

Still 8 weeks to go to Ironman, that a lot more than a month to go :-)

Will decide tommorow on the Buffelspoort 70.3 Tri . . .

Enter it man. You can do it. 6 weeks is still plenty of time. Just take 3-4 days completely off afer the 70.3. I could actually help you in the long run....

I saw your swim tactics comments in the Ironman 70.3 topic earlier the year . . . if your running tactics are the same, how is that going to help me?!

You entered yet?

I am going to enter right now. Noooo, my run tactics are a bit more competitor friendly. Just make sure you dont overtake me. No one overtakes the Garf and lives to tell the tale.................

Great race, erm, interesting hill!

Well organized, loved it. Will be back.

And Garf, was that you who removed my goggles with your feet 100m into the swim?

Ja luckily it wasn't too cold on the run ;)

Now is the time for the gadget guys to shine.

Any one with a bike & run profile.

The bike was a bit short and I think the swim was a bit long.

Think everything was about right. Maybe the run and bike were a tiny bit short and the swim a tiny bit long, but basically, ok.

The run was hot on the way out and not too bad on the way back.

It was all prettty close, with the conditions and the route, I'm only to happy the bike and run route were a bit shoter... That was an honest course... Very well orgnised, water points and the people manning them were awesome, well worth the entry fee. The goodie bag was a little dissappointing, but I'll take that and sufficient water at all the water points... Well done to the organisers, I'll be back next year.

Mrmed, might have been, I goggle-whipped a couple of guys especially on the first lap who showed disrepect to me by swimming into the Garfs lines.

Great race. It definately didn't feel short to me. Was warm. I got my tan back!
