bontie Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 So I am about to buy a new MTB.I was dead set on a Scalpel 29er 2, and would not cater the thought of another bike. But I have had a rational moment and realised that I would probably use the bike 15-20 rides a year only. So is it worth it to spend about R40k on a bike which will see so little use? The easy answer is obviously to trim that down to a Flash 29er 2/3 then, which is a wad of cash cheaper, and still quite capable, I bet. But then to mix things up a bit I stumbled onto this - http://www.canyon.com/_uk/mountainbikes/bike.html?b=2547 at about R20k for a complete bike, with pretty reaonable spec... Oh and of course there are the niners, saw and held a Jet9 RDO on the weekend, wow! Which one do you reckon I should go for?
ebenvn Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Take the Scalpel! Otherwise you'll always wonder!
gummibear Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Canyon is a good specced bike and i have seen many on the trails.Just remember import duties on a complete bike is high.
