Timing chip advice

I use the ankle strap and have not had any issues so far. Cant attach to my shoe. I know a guy who just pops it into his sock and rides like that. Never lost it.

While on this subject, just a slight hijack. If we all have to have timing chips, why do we need that stupid starting card. They could just have a mat at the entry to the chutes. Am I missing something obvious here?

They don't want Z's starting with A's.

And even if they do have mats at the chute entries, it's too late to stop you.

But why is the timing mat always 100m after the finish line? I keep loosing several seconds as i always stop riding, then think "oh s£&t!"

I can only suggest attaching a 100m pole horizontally to your bike, with the chip attached at the end, this way when you cross the line the chip will cross the mats, and the problem will be solved.

There may be some aero disadvantages, but it doesn't really matter.

Yeah thats definitly gonna make that you dont qualify for the olympics,,,,, its a shame.
