Wes I recently bought the Shim AM 45's. They're really cool, but then you need to get the Shimano DX pedals as well. They definately don't work as well on normal Shimano clipless pedals(e.g. XT). Feel a lot more solid on the DX's.

Our daughter uses the AM 45's even on her XC bike because they:

1. Look cool

2. Keep feet warm in winter

3. Keep feet dry - especially from dew (see point 2)

Sorry for the poor quality pic.

When Flat Pedals bite back. Sometimes not even 5.10's can make up for ones lack of talent.

7 stitches but I was still riding the next weekend

I still prefer flats over clips for playing.

My Mallets left a scar down my calf/ankle which looks like I was attacked by a lion.

I'm diabetic & shoes are a problem so I've been riding with AM's for a while now & they are fantastic.

Using eggbeaters as well, took a while to get clipping in lekka but now it's second nature.

Also its amazing how fast you can unclip when you have those "hier kom k@k moments"

Sometimes get skeefed out by the ou's at races but hey I'm comfy & my feet are happy.
