Hi all, hope i have posted this in the correct place if not i will move it. I am kinda of a newbie and as many of us i love riding my bike. I recently purchased a second hand bike which i would like to strip and rebuild as a hobby.

I do however have a few questions which im hoping some of you might be able to answer.

  • Does anyone perhaps know what frame this bike is?
  • I would like to respray it as the frame has a couple of scratches. Any sugestions? DIY? or somewhere that can spray it? cost?
  • Has anyone ever wraped their frame? Similar to those guys that do their cars??? Weight is not really an issue at this stage to me :whistling:

Thanks all in advance. Apologies for poor picture quality.

I once wrapped my vehicle. It was fantastic. Then i wrapped a jetski and it looked ***.

Same guy, so i learnt that some things arent meant to be wrapped.

Bikes are one.

Point taken

My experience is to not spray but powdercoat... the stuff is amazing!

As for wrapping, you mean like to give it to somebody like a gift? Is a bow not good enough? :whistling:

Got a quote from bike art to respray the frame R2100. That's more than what I paid for the whole bike.

Paint stripper, primer, spraypaint. Rustoleum is good, not completely cheap tho. You may be able to prime and paint straight over that paint tho', depending on condition.
