Lexx Posted May 13, 2012 Share Hi Good day Guys, I'm thinking of joining the dark side and buy myself a 29er in a couple of weeks. What do you think of the Momsen AL329 and Axis A20 29er as a Marathon Mountain Bike?
Sacrosanct Posted May 13, 2012 Share Both good value for money. I'd probably go for the Momsen because I prefer shimano and the ZTR Crest wheelset it comes with. It really is personal preference in the end.

EZRider Posted May 13, 2012 Share The rest is debatable but the Rock Shock Recon Gold kicks the Suntour equipped bike into a lower league. Cav'
Smolly Posted May 13, 2012 Share Agreed, check out siverback, and if possible look at adding a few extra grand for better specs as its a LOT cheaper to buy better specs out of the box than upgrade later.
Lexx Posted May 13, 2012 Share Will Definately do that. Thanks
RvanZ Posted July 27, 2012 Share I'm also pondering these 2 bikes. The axis a10 weighs in at 11.2kgs (according to Tread mag) I tried to guage the weight of a momsen 529 over the weekend, and for some reason it felt heavierthan my scot reflex at 13.5kg. I stand to be corrected though. Yes the wheels on momsen are better, but I'd rather have a lighter bike, that doesn't need changes, than a better spec'd heavy bike.
