Hi Good day Guys,

I'm thinking of joining the dark side and buy myself a 29er in a couple of weeks. What do you think of the Momsen AL329 and Axis A20 29er as a Marathon Mountain Bike?

Both good value for money. I'd probably go for the Momsen because I prefer shimano and the ZTR Crest wheelset it comes with. It really is personal preference in the end.

Agreed, check out siverback, and if possible look at adding a few extra grand for better specs as its a LOT cheaper to buy better specs out of the box than upgrade later.

  • 2 months later...

I'm also pondering these 2 bikes.

The axis a10 weighs in at 11.2kgs (according to Tread mag)

I tried to guage the weight of a momsen 529 over the weekend, and for some reason it felt heavier

than my scot reflex at 13.5kg. I stand to be corrected though.

Yes the wheels on momsen are better, but I'd rather have a lighter bike, that doesn't need changes, than a better spec'd heavy bike.
