Well what would the "cost" be about for the simpler wand/beam system that just registers the riders at the start and finish? No splits etc, but needs to be able to id the chip etc ...

I would say that you need a person to monitor would be a better scenario. Ideally you want the system to run itself. (bit like the transponder system in MX) Link that to a 42" screen at the finish showing you live timing and you got yourself a pimping setup! KZN would be the envy of ALL the other provinces!! All we need now is a sponsor.....

better yes cost efficient...well lets see if we can get some sponsors to come to the party haha

Geecee is just upset because a girl beat him by 0.01. You can't let a rookie with a broken trail bike chirp about the timing system.

We are working on it. Might have to approach a few guys to see what we can do. If the equipment is sponsorred or at worse case scenario, supplied at cost, would there be advertising opportuniyies for the sponsors? For example "Gregg Minnaar DH Rnd 4 at Worlds View Race Results (Timing by Siemens)"

unfortunately had limited time to get pics would have liked to get a few more and a few from different places on the track. oh well..

is there a race at worlds view this weekend?

Posted

Yup. It's the 4th leg of the National Series, so there should be riders from all parts of the country there.

Anyone can still enter but entry fees tend to be more than regional races. (Normally about R300/R400 to enter)

They have also extended the World's View track, with a high speed section in the final 3rd of the track.

Should be awesome.

I am hoping to pop in for a little while. We had plans for the weekend that seem to have fallen through (Family's sick) so I might be able to spend a bit more time there. Should follow the same sequence as the provincial... Qualifying runs in the morning with race runs in the afternoon... I think. I am going to start at the Gravity Life pits and go from there. Hoping to get there in the morning sometime and catch some of the practise runs.
