For the Watt nerds

Saw this tweet by Taylor Phinney about stage 17 of the Giro:

"4 u watt nerds: just to stay in the main peloton on the first 4.5km climb of the day I averaged 484w for 10min. Today was stage 17. #yikes"

Now, I don't ride with a power meter so please put this in perspective for me. What kind of power output would the "normal person" sustain on a climb over the same period?

All depends on how fast you want to go.......100w will get you over the top in about 3 days.....480w for 10 min is a lot!! TP weighs about 78 from looking at his tall lanky figure. so 6.15w/kg World class!!
