I jump them on a HT 29er.

 

Should be a peace of cake on a 26'er then... :)

I know! The speed needed to clear stuff on the smaller bikes sometimes scare older folk.. ;)

Dunno about that. a bmx is a lot less forgiving than a mountain bike.

I've also started biting the bullet and learning to jump big stuff lately, have always sucked at it...

 

That little logged kicker next to the DH hip jump in your first pic is the perfect starter for those a bit nervous, there's absolutely no way you can get into trouble if messing it up.

 

It's freakin' ridiculous how much easier the big stuff is on a proper DH bike, I took a Giant Glory for its 3rd outing on Sunday, the launch below can pretty much be hit flat-out without much consideration with so much bike underneath one. That being said, my brother launches this particular one with so much speed and boost that he bottoms his Boxxer on the (flat) landing!

If you land in a controlled manner on your wheels no.

 

If you land on your face in an uncontrolled manner yes
